At Cologne on Sunday Best Of Lips ran a great Derby trial in winning the G2 over 2200m.

The Sparkasse KölnBonn Union-Rennen finished up with 9 runners, several of whom are inn the field for the Derby in early July.  However the Andreas Suborics trained son of The Gurkha was too good for the rest of the field winning by an easy 4 ¾ lengths.  He was given an excellent ride by Lukas Delozier but once in the clear all he had to do was sit there and the horse did the rest!  Dolecetto on 22/1 was second and Sky Out 13/1 third with favourite Virginia Storm somewhat disappointing in fifth.
