The weather should be dry if not tropical and the going is good to soft.

The Long Distance Cup G2 over 3200m starts the program.  There is a field of 12 headed by Trueshan and Stradivarius.  In the Cadran Trueshan ran away with the race but the going was on the soggy side and not the preferred surface for Stradivarius.  This may be a swan song for Stradivarius so we wish him well in this – not sure if he can overturn the result but it should be a lot closer than the Cadran.  The Mediterranean was a close second in the Loughbrown over this trip at the Curragh and could be value on 14/1, and Princess Zoe was 5th in the Cadran but is another who will this surface more amenable and she's 8/1.

The British Champions Sprint Stakes is G1 over 1200m with a field of 20 so it will be a cavalry charge and something may well spring out of the pack.  They are not the star sprinters and it isn't a true G1 field.  Dragon Symbol is on 4/1, Art Power 9/2 and Creative Force 13/2.

The British Champions F&M is over 2400m and has 8 runners headed by the wonderful Snowfall who is odds-on for O'Brien-Moore.  Albaflora and Invite are both on 9/2.

The Queen Elizabeth II Stakes is G1 down the straight 1600m with a really top class field of 10.  It is difficult to keep anything out from the picks as we love a lot of them however the market has Palace Pier on top on 13/8 for Gosdens-Dettori, Baaeed 5/2 for Haggas-Crowley, Master of the Seas 7/1 Appleby-Buick and we have to put him in as a roughie – Benbatl, on 16/1 – a most wonderfully honest horse.

The Qipco Champion Stakes is G1 over 2000m and it too has 10 runners.  Mishriff is on 13/8 for Gosdens- David Egan, Adayar 7/4 Appleby-Buick and Addeybb 13/2 Haggas-Marquand.

There is an exciting finish coming up for the champion jockey title as on Thursday Oisin Murphy led by 2 wins from William Buick.
