Dermot Weld saddled the winner in the first race but not the feature winner.
That was Galtee Mist in the Corrib who started on 11/1 for Joseph Murphy and Gary Carrol.
Second home was Lustown Baba on 6/1 but 3 ½ lengths back with Royal Canford third. 4th in was Faire Croire on 66/1.
The Mill Handicap had 18 runners and a major upset here when Sirjack Thomas 50/1 came from the heavens to beat Quizical 33/1 and Masala 10/1 with In From The Cold 22/1.
Wednesday's Galway Plate Handicap Chase has 22 runners who have to negotiate 14 fences. The Shunter heads the call on 9/2 for Emmet Mullins and Simon Torrens, Top Moon is on 15/2 for Joseph O'Brien and Mark Walsh and the one we like here is Royal Rendezvous who is on 8/1. He came second in this race last year and Willie Mullins has booked Paul Townend for the ride. Somptueuse is on 9/1 for Henry de Bromhead with Aidan Coleman to ride. This is usually Rachael Blackmore's ride but she has been injured and is sitting out the rest of the season.
