How good was that! Joan of Arc shows up in Paris to achieve a glorious win in the Diane!
Aiden O'Brien's filly produced a double of the Jockey Club and the Diane (Derby and Oaks) for trainer and jockey Ioritz Mendizabel. She had a good gate which always helps and was given a perfect ride by Mendizabel to win by ¾ length from favourite Philomene with Burgarita finishing strongly to take third away from Sibila Spain.
There were four G3 acompanying the G1 on the card and the first of these was the Paul de Moussac where Erasmo got the verdict in a very tight finish with the German raider Best Lightning with the verdict a short neck, and Moai third.
The Prix du Bois saw Kevin Ryan's Atomic Force just defeat our roughie Black Lives Matter who went off at 40/1 and Best Sixteen third. Dizzy Bizu was 5th. Napa Spirit and Mountain Madness back in the pack.
After the Diane the Betrand du Breuil went to Ecrivain who keeps popping up – from Carlos Laffon-Parias's yard, and German raider Northern Ruler from Andreas Wöhler's yard won the Prix du Lys from Bubble Gift.
