Barrier Draw for Spriners' Stakes

3 minute read

Probable favourite for the race at Nakayama on Sunday, Fine Needle, has drawn gate 8 which is the gate that has produced the most winners to date.

Lucky Bubbles has drawn out in gate 14 but while Brett Prebble said he would prefer an inside draw, it may not be all bad news as from there he should be able to get a good posi and come round horses in the straight but it will be tough. Gates 10 and 13 are the next best gates and this year they will be occupied by Let's Go Donki, one of our favourite mares, and Teehaff which is owned by Godolphin, who also have Fine Needle.

This morning trainer Francis Lui was on hand to check on Lucky Bubbles who did a right handed run on the dirt track. Lui was pleased with the appearance of Lucky Bubbles and considered him a "happy horse" which is what the stable have been saying about him.

We will have the Morning Line prices tomorrow and a bit more on some of the other sprinters, particularly the strong female sprint contingent.
