The Dewhurst and the Cesarewitch

3 minute read

Were two of the big attractions at Newmarket on Saturday, with the afternoon's features starting with the G3 Autumn Stakes over 1600m, G3.

No surprises here as the race went to the French raider Persian King, trained by Andre Fabre and ridden by Pierre-Charles Boudot. Magna Grecia was hanging in there and was only a neck of the win, then there was a 3 length gap to Circus Maximus.

The Dewhurst went to that stunning Lloyd Webber homebred Too Darn Hot who was much to hot for the rest of the field with Advertise running second and Anthony van Dyck third.

We had fancied a couple of Willie Mullins's horses in the Cesarewitch but we picked the wrong two as it was Low Sun who won from stablemate Uradel. Cleonte 25/1 was third and Vis a Vis fourth.

The Darley Stakes G3 wento to Euginio 13/2 by a neck from Forest Ranger, who was seen recently coming 5th in the Korea International Cup in Seoul, and favourite Gabr 4/1.
