Rey d'Oro wins Tenno Sho (Aki) 2018

3 minute read

This gave jockey Christophe Lemaire his third consecutive G1. Sungrazer under Joao Moreira rattled home to take second.

He ran the fastest final 600m which could be interesting in terms of the forthcoming Japan Cup. Kiseki was just a nose away in third and then there was a length back to Al Ain.

One horse who did not finish - didn't even compete - was Danburite who dumped the jockey when going out onto the track and was scratched by the stewards.

On Saturday the Artemis Stakes G3 went to Schon Glanz by a 1/2 length to Beach Samba with Alle Voix third and better to forget favourite Glacier went round especially as these were 2yos and they are all a work in progress.

At Kyoto the Swan Stakes G2 over 1400m saw Lord Quest win, giving Mirco Demuro a win over his friend and rival Chrisophe Lemaire who was on the favourite Mozu Ascot. Guanciale on 38.7 was third and Bestern Dank fourth.
