Breeders’ Cup 2018 Day 2

3 minute read

This starts off with the fillies and mares sprint over 1100m

Marley’s Freedom is the Morning Line favourite on 8/5, with Selcourt next on 4/1, Finley’sluckycharm whom we rather like is on 10/1 and Golden Mischief around the same quote.

The Turf Sprint follows and this is rather open with Christophe Clement’s Disco Partner on 7/2, Stormy Liberal 44/1 and Conquest Tsunami 6/1.

The Dirt Mile has only 10 runners headed by Catalina Cruiser on 8/5, City of Light 5/2 and Seeking the Soul on 5/1.

The Fillies and Mares Turf is over 2000m with Chad Brown’s Sistercharlie at 3/1, Wild Illusion for the Brits is 7/2 in US and 9/4 UK, Fourstar Crook 5/1 and O’Brien’s Magic Wand 8/1.

The BC Sprint over 1200m has Imperial Hint on 9/5, Roy H whom we fancy on 5/2 and Limousine Liberal 6/1.

The Turf Mile sees Freddy Head’s Polydream leading the market on 5/1 (5/2 UK) with Oscar Performance and Catapult on 6/1, Expert Eye and Gustav Klimt around 8/1.

The Distaff sees Monomy Girl on 2/1, Abel Tasman 7/2, Midnight Bisou 6/1 and the same quote for the Argentinian bred Blue Prize, 8/1 the Chilean bred Wow Cat whom we like, and 10/1 Vale Dore. This could be one of the races of the meeting.

The BC Turf has 13 runners with Enable on evens US odds-on UK, Waldgeist 7/2, the Chilean bred Robert Bruce on 10/1 with O’Brien’s Magical.

The Classic closes the meeting with Accelerate on 5/2, Mind Your Biscuits 6/1. West Coast 5/1, McKinzie 6/1, Catholic Boy 8/1, Yoshida 10/1 and Mendelssohn 12/1. Note Roaring Lion 20/1 in the ML and 8/1 in the UK. If Mendelssohn is not freaked out by the going and can get a good start he could certainly be e/w value.
