The weather is supposed to be quite nice (a relative term) and the racing first rate for this Wednesday.
We are going to press a bit early as the flying horsebox is undertaking some long hauls so watch for scratchings and market moves. As things stand at the moment:
The Baring Bingham Grade 1 has 12 runners headed by the appropriately-named Champ who is currently on 5/2. Battleoverdoyen is 7/2, City Island 6/1 and Brewin’upastorm 8/1.
The RSA Insurance Novices’ Chase Gr 1 has 12 runners with the Gordon Elliott trained Delta Works on top on 15/8 with Davy Russell riding. Santini and Topofthegame are both on 7/2.
The Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle Gr 3 has 24 runners to date and the sharp pin should come in very handy, but you could also factor in Uradel for the formidable Mullins-Walsh team on 5/1 which looks OK. The pin comes in next as there are several on 12/1 or thereabouts including the two Elliott runners Cracking Smart with Jack Kennedy and Farclas with Davy Russell riding respectively.
The Queen Mother Champion Chase Gr 1 has 9 runners for what is one of the highlights of the festival. The outstanding Altior is 2/5 for the Henderson-de Boinville team. He is certainly brilliant but do not like the price! Min is a lovely horse and the 4/1 for the Mullins-Walsh team looks reasonable and then you can get 14/1 for Sceau Royal and 20/1 for Politologue who is our roughie here.
