There's been a few surprises (which is not unusual) and there may be more in store on this Thursday card.

It starts off with the Golden Miller Novices' Chase Gr 1 with to runners headed by Defi De Seuil at 3/1 and Lostintranslation 7/2. Real Steel is on 13/2 and always worth something on a Mullins-Walsh runner when they are at each way odds and here Voix Du Reve is on 9/1.

The Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle is Gr 3 with a field of 24 making it a very open race with many possibilities. Sire Du Berlais seems to be one to keep safe on 11/2 for Elliott-Geraghty, with several runners on 11/1 or thereabouts, including First Assignment, NotwhatIam, and one that appeals is Themistocles for Joseph O'Brien and J. Slevin.

The Ryanair Chase Gr 1 has 12 runners and is always a highlight of the week. This year's edition has Noel Meade's Road To Respect on top on 7/2, Footpad for Mullins-Walsh on 4/1, Monalee 9/2 and we have always liked Un De Sceaux and 11/2 looks attractive for Mullins-Townend.

The Stayers' Hurdle Gr 1 has 18 participants with Paisley ark fav on 15/8 as he goes for a 5th consecutive win. The trainer (Willie Mullins) says Faugheen is on top form and he'll be looking for redemption having fallen at his last outing. 4/1 available at present but watch the betting especially. Jessica Harrington saddles Supersundae and he's 7/1.

The Handicap Chase Gr 3 is another very open affair with 23 runners. Janika is 9/2 for Nicky Henderson and Daryl Jacob, Sirus Du Lac 13/2, Spirit of the Game 15/2 and we like another of the Henderson runners River Wylde on 12/1, with Nico de Boinville riding.

The Mares Novices' Hurdle is Gr 2 with 22 runners. Epatante is 9/4, Posh Trish 5/1, My Sister Sarah 15/2 Mullins-Walsh (see comments above) and Sinoria 8/1 for Henry de Bromhead.
