A somewhat quiet day in Hong Kong with many having been up in the wee hours watching the Hong Kong reps in Dubai.

Of these the most impressive was Gold Mount who was 4th in the Dubai Gold Cup, a 3200m race where the Melbourne Cup winner Cross Counter added another cup to his CV. It is a shame that there so few staying races in HK as this horse looks like he could run forever and he may have to look abroad again to find suitable races.

Sunday's top rated race is The Tolo Habour Class 2 over 1800m and one that we like the look of - King Opie - will be the mount of debutante apprentice Alfred Chan. His 10 lbs claim probable helps the horse get in at 5.8. Shortest price at present is Tornado Twist, who ticks many boxes - Joao Moreira, John Size and good trackwork - 4.0. Encouraging 4.7 and Lean Perfection 8.7 are others who could make the frame in what should be a good race.
