Scottish Grand National at Ayr

3 minute read

The weather looks like being a lot nicer than it was at Cheltenham as Ayr gets set for a very big day off racing.

There's the Scottish Champion Hurdle Gr 2 where the Skeltons combine with the favourite Nuke Negra who is on 9/2. Mister Fisher is a 6/1 shot, Redicean 7/1 and for our musical friends Leoncavallo on 15/2.

The Future Champion Novices' Chase is also Gr 2 and has 13 runners. Vinndication is on 11/4, Secret Investor 3/1 and our roughie is Colin Tizzard's Drinks Interval on 16/1.

The Grand National itself has a field of 28 and as usual is pretty open. The lead from the market gives us Big River and Dingo Dollar on 8/1 and Beware The Bear and Vintage Clouds on 9/1.

The south at Newbury has the John Porter G3 over 2400m sees a number of old friends and we would have to go for Hughie Morrison's Marmelo with Gerald Mosse riding on 8/1. Shorter than that we find Defoe on 6/4 and Laraaib on 15/2.

The Fred Darling is G3 for the 3yo fillies and Dancing Vega is on 3/1. So Perfect is a double acceptor with Naas and if she runs here will be on 7/2. Dandhu is 6/1 and our roughie is Dutch Treat on 16/1.

The Greenham is G3 for the boys and Boltron holds the call on 3/1, Great Scot and Mohaather are on 4/1 and Hello Youmzain is 7/2.
