There was a very close battle down the straight especially in the last 200 metres between Fierement and Glory Vase.

In the end Chistophe Lemaire's mount gave him another G1 victory as Fierement just edged out Glory Vase.  Perform a Promise collected the third prize and Etario came from the very back of the field to take fourth and You Can Smile was fifth.

On Saturday at Tokyo our tip Lion Lion delighted us by winning the Aoba Sho, a Derby Trial, by a nose from the favourite Run For The Toses, with Peace One Paradis the third home.
