Nice day at the office for the Aga Khan

At Leopardstown on Sunday horses belonging to the Aga Khan saluted in two of the three feature races.

The G3 Amethyst Stakes went to his Hazapour, who started favourite and who is trained by Dermot Weld and was ridden by Oisin Orr.  They finished 2 ½ lengths in front of Jim Bolger’s Verbal Dexterity with Kevin Manning on board.

 

And his filly Hamarinya, this time from Mick Halford’s yard won the 1000 Guineas Trial by 1 ¼ lengths from Dean Street Doll who was a head in front of Jessica Harrington’s Trethias with Titanium Sky fourth.

 

The G3 Derby Trial only had 7 runners and was won by the favourite Broome with Blenheim Palace second on 33/1.
