John Gosden and Frankie Dettori had mixed fortunes yesterday but with only 8 runners in the field this could be somewhat easier.  The challenge could come from Ispolini, the Godolphin-Appleby Dubai Gold Cup second, with James Doyle substituting for the unwell William Buick.  O’Brien’s Southern France will need to run to top form and is on 11/2 with Marlk Johnstone’s Mildenberger likewise on 12/1.

Thursday saw Lah Ti Dar perform as expected winning the Middleton but there was only a neck between her and Rawdaa.  Lah Ti Dar will now head to the Coronation Cup.

Little brother Too Darn Hot didn’t fare so well in the Dante where he got collared by 7/1 Telecaster, a Hughie Morrison – Oisin Murphy runner who has now become a rising star.  The Epsom Derby may be too soon so it could be the Irish Derby or the French on his dance card.  Too Darn Hot won’t go to Epsom and they will wait for Ascot, and third money went to Surfman 5/1.

Morrison's best known is Marmelo and on the gallops the other day Marmelo thought Telecaster was going a bit fast so he bit him!  Seniority rules.
