Japanese Oaks 2019.

3 minute read

To be run over 2400m on the Fuchu track, the Yushun Himba is the second leg of the Japanese Triple Crown for 3yo fillies.

There are a number of Deep Impact’s daughters at the head of the market – Loves Only You on 4.1, Contra Check on 5.6 and Danon Fantasy on 6.3.  In amongst them is one filly by Bago Chrono Genesis, who is on 4.5.  The first leg winner Gran Alegria isn’t in the field so there will not be a Triple Crown winner this year.

Loves Only You is unbeaten and is a sister to Real Steel.  Mirco Demuro rides.  Contra Check will see Damian Lane trying to continue his fantastic streak in Japan.

It’s a pretty open race and will no doubt provide much information for races to come.
