All in blue this Saturday at Ascot

3 minute read

Godolphin blue that is as Blue Point goes for the double in the Diamond Jubilee,

And to start off in the Jersey Stales G3 over 1400m for the 3yos with 18 to run, their

Space Blues is fav on 11/4 for the Appleby-Doyle team.  It's pretty open after that with So Perfect on 5/1 for Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore, Happy Power 7/1 for Balding –de Souza and King Power racing with stablemate Bye Bye Hong Kong 14/1 for the same ownership with Oisin Murphy on board.

The G2 Hardwicke is over 2000m with a field of 9 headed by Coronation Cup winner Defoe on 3/1.  Last year's Derby winner Masar is back with his first race since then.  He's on 10/3 following a good trial but it is a bit of an ask.  The filly Lah Ti Dah has done little wrong and is on 9/2, the same quote as recent winner Southern France.  Sir Michael Stoute's Mirage Dancer comes in on 11/2 after winning a Listed at Goodwood on resumption.  Interesting runner in Nagano Gold, a rare representative from the Czech Republic, where their Derby will be run today.

And to the Diamond Jubilee and memories of Black Caviar will always be associated with this race.  Blue Point is going for the double despite Appleby saying after the King's Stand that he would be rested so she must be really well. 2/1 if you are lucky.  Invincible Army is on 4/1, City Light from France on 7/1 and always keep The Tin Man safe – 10/1.  There are more foreign raiders here with the American Bound For Nowhere – Ward-Graffalone, the Kiwi Enzo's Lad and the Singaporean Lim's Cruiser which will make it quite international!

We don't usually do the handicaps but the Wokingham is an exception as it is such a great betting race.  The full field of 28 will produce the cavalry charge down the 1200m.  Cape Byron looks good and is on 8/1, Gunmetal 12/1, Tis Marvellous 20/1, Foxtrot Lady 18/1 and Southern Horse 20/1 are the ones the sharp pin has landed on.
