Joy and Sorrow

3 minute read

There was joy with the win of Mystery Power in the G2 Superlative at Newmarket for the King Power Syndicate.

And then there was sorrow when their Beat The Bank won at Ascot, went amiss and had to be put down after crossing the line first in the Summer Mile.  Trained by Andrew Balding, the son of Paco Boy had been a great success for the syndicate which was started by the late Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

Mystery Power looks very promising and there was a good run also from Juan Elcano in second.  Both look capable of good future runs.  Maxi Boy was third 3 ¼ lengths away.

The July Cup saw Ten Sovereigns return to top form producing a nice turn of foot to defeat favourite Advertise by 2 ¾ lengths.  Fairyland was third and Pretty Pollyanna fourth.  Not a bad run from the Singaporean Lim's Cruiser to finish sixth.
