Hong Kong Sunday

3 minute read

It wasn't a very attractive program and the problems outside impacted on the crowd numbers which were very poor.

There were a number of people who went instead to Happy Valley to watch on the big screen rather than face the challenge of public transport.  One of the train lines was closed before the end of racing and the jockey club provided a shuttle service to Sha Tin to help people find alternative transport home.  The wonderful staff of the HKJC were given a bonus of $200 HK to help them with transport home.

In the last race the Class 2 Douglas Whyte now trains the horse he had his last win as a jockey on - Uncle Steve - and it won, beating Hezthewonforus and our roughie Lucky Hero was third.  Joao Moreira rode a treble and Paul O'Sullivan got his season moving also with a treble.
