Hong Kong racing at Sha Tin this Saturday

3 minute read

It should have been the Happy Valley Saturday meet, which happens once a year, but it was decided it was wiser to hold the meeting at Sha Tin.

Apart from the problems outside the track, paint tins were thrown onto the track at Happy Valley on Wednesday between races 7 and 8.  They were removed and racing continued but it's worrying.

Saturday we have two Class 2s in races 7 and 9.  Race 7 is the Tsuen Fu Handicap over 1800m and Star Performer looks to be on the way up.  Tony Cruz and Joao Moreira here and the quote is 4.3 at present.  We are going a bit wide here with our other selections both for Frankie Lor – Right Choice 31.0 and King Opie 13.0.

The Wo Tuk is over the 1000m and this could be a good go.  Voyage Warrior ran a very good trial recently and is on 1.9 for Yiu-Purton.  Aethero has had a change of rider and Joao Moreira will ride this time – he's on 6.7 and down in trip so let's hope he settles.  We like Multimillion too – he's on 15.0 with Tony Cruz using a 10 lb claiming apprentice here.

Racing is also going to start one hour earlier.
