On a beautiful sunny autumn day 20 horses lined up for this thrilling 7 km challenge.

The favourite Theophilos under a super ride from Joseph Bartos had enough gas in the tank to overtake a couple of leaders coming down the straight and deliver trainer and former top jockey Joseph Varna his 11th VP.

The Brits were happy as Rathlin Rose just tired in the straight to leave him in 6th but he jumped well and handled the gruelling course very well and connections are planning a return next year.

They were also cheering as jockey Tom Garner finished second on Stretton who was one of the front runners.  The horse that led until a most unfortunate mistake about 4 jumps out was Bridgeur who was pulled up after that.

Leighton Aspell also did well finishing 7th on Talent and the prize money goes through to 7th.

A special mention to Delight My Fire who parted company with his jockey about half way round and then kept on going with the rest of the horses until quite near the end.
