A triumphant Donjuan Triumphant won the opening Sprint for the King Power group with Silvestre de Sousa riding the Andrew Balding trained horse.  He was one of the first horses "The Chairman" bought so it was an emotional day for connections.  He's now going off to stud and we wish him well in his future career.  One Master was second and Forever In Dreams 66/1 third.

The big upset of the day occurred in the Long Distance Cup when Stradivarius was beaten by a nose by Kew Gardens.  It was a great finish and no disgrace from the second as his winning run came to an end.  Next home was 5 lengths behind them – Royal Line for the record.

Gosden-Dettori were happier after the Fillies & Mares when Star Catcher got the victory and gave Frankie Dettori his 250th G1 – what a record!  Delphinia 20/1 was a very game second just losing by a short head with a length back to Sun Maiden 25/1.

The 3yo King Of Change 12/1 took out the QEII with a fine run that augurs well for next year.  Favourite The Revenant was 1 ¼ lengths away in second and Safe Voyage 40/1 was third.

Magical proved she was Magical in winning the Champion Stakes by ¾ length from Addeybb and Deidre a very honest third.  Magical will probably head to the Breeders' Cup Fillies & Mares as another O'Brien runner Anthony van Dyck is going to the Turf.  Deidre may go to the Hong Kong Internationals where she ran last year.

Sad news from America that The Wicklow Brave had to be euthanised after falling and breaking a shoulder at the last in the American Grand National.  He was a very game horse and twice ran in the Melbourne Cup.
