Mile Championship in Kyoto

3 minute read

The 36th running of this race takes place on Sunday with an interesting field.

There is no real standout here although Danon Premium will probably start favourite after his second to Almond Eye in the Tenno Sho but the margin was 3 lengths.  Currently the Deep Impact product is on 2.9.

Danon Kingly is a model of consistency and always finishes in the top three – he's another Deep Impact and is on 4.2.

Indy Champ won the Yasuda Kinen in June and is on 5.7. Christophe Soumillon will be on Diatonic who has won 4 of his last 5 outings including the Swan Stakes with Soumillon on board.  He's worth a go on 9.5.

And we are going to support our roughie here – Al Ain – who had no luck in the Tenno Sho and will be ridden by Ryan Moore and currently is quoted at 11.9.
