Bahrain has now joined the racing jurisdictions that host International G1 races.
The inaugural running of the Bahrain International Trophy is over 2000m on turf and has a field of 14 runners. A number of these runners are coming from Europe as are the jockeys and the locals have some good runners and of course trainer Fawzi Nass is well known for running horses in Dubai and Singapore etc.
The UK is well-represented and Turgenev from the John Gosden yard with Robert Havlin riding is favourite on 5/2. Mountain Angel with Andrea Atzeni riding for Roger Varian is on 9/2 as is King Power Racing's Pivoine, trained by Andrew Balding and ridden by Silvestre de Silva. Intellogent is on 8/1 with P-C Boudot in the irons.
We'll try a roughie here in Sword Peinture 33/1 for our friends Andreas Suborics and Filip Minarik.
