Royal Julius, from France, trained by Jerome Reynier and ridden by Stephane Pasquier
Pasquier produce his runner with a charge from the back to overtake Turgenev, whose jockey Robert Havlin said may have found the quick going a bit too quick, and local Rustang, trained by Allan Smith and ridden by apprentice Lee Newman who was substituting for the injured Gerald Mossé.
The winner went off at 12/1, the second at 5/2 and the third 22/1. It seems that betting was possible in Bahrain and that the whole event went off very well.
