This race used to be called the Japan Cup Dirt and is a G1 race over 1800m.

It's one of the two G1 races on dirt in Japan with the other being the February Stakes.

Horse that do well in this race often head to Dubai where they can run on a similar surface.

Favourite here is the 3yo Chrysoberyl, a 3yo son of Gold Allure who remains unbeaten after 5 outings.  Yuji Kawada rides and the Morning Line has him at 3.6

Gold Dream won this race in 2017 and will have Christophe Lemaire on board and with a quote of 3.9 there isn't much between the top two.

February Stakes winner Inti is going for the double here and will have Yutaka Take to help him – he's on 5.5.

And Frankie Dettori is riding the consistent Omega Perfume who is on 6.1.
