Next Sunday sees the running of the Hong Kong International races for 2019.
Unfortunately the star attraction Almond Eye won't be coming as she had an elevated temperature and would not have cleared quarantine in time.
So this Sunday 1 December meeting is a bit of a chance to see some of the up and coming horses and gives others a chance to strut their stuff.
There is only one Class 2 race on the card and that comes at Race 8, the Mody Handicap over 1200m. Big Time Baby is the current favourite on 3.9 although our form guide prefers Winner Supreme. Karis Teetan is back riding after a brief "holiday" and is on Winner Supreme and Matthew Chadwick rides Big Time Baby. Both horses have been working well.
If you want to go wider, we like Waldorf on 14.0 with Lyle Hewitson on board for Tony Cruz, or Seven Heavens with Joao Moreira riding for Caspar Fownes.
Wednesday at Happy Valley we have the International Jockeys Championship – more about that nearer the time as the Flying Horsebox heads for Hong Kong on Tuesday.
