The New Kids on the Block

3 minute read

With Japanese runners having a stellar year all over the world, this is a chance to get to know the future prospects.

Sunday sees the running of the Asai Hai Futurity for the 2yos over 1600m at Hanshin.  Salios, by Heart's Cry, has won both his starts to date and looks very promising – Ryan Moore has the ride and he's on 2.2.

Taisei Vision is by Turtle Bowl and set a race record in winning the G2 Keio Hai Nisei. Yutaka Take has the ride and 5.4 current odds.

Red Bel Jour is a Deep Impact also 2 from 2 and Soumillon rides – he's on 6.3 and Pale Ale by Daiwa Major was third behind Red Bel Jour recently but there were excuses and he's on 9.1 here with Oisin Murphy on board.

Last weekend the 2yo Hanshin Fillies saw Resistencia break Vodka's record for the race and retain her unbeaten record winning by 5 lengths from Maltese Diosa, our roughie, who held out Cravache d'Or by a nose who had to settle for third with Woman's Heart fourth and favourite Ria Amelia sixth.
