It's been an excellent year for Japanese racing and the G1 Hopeful at Nakayama will close it out in style.

The 2yos who are lining up here will be tackling the 2000m course and should provide a good guide to the 2020 classics.

Contrail by Deep Impact comes from the in-form stable of Yahagi-sensei and will be ridden by Fukunaga-san.  He looks outstanding and won his last start at Tokyo in a G3 by 5 lengths and in record time.  He's on 2.4.

Wakea is by Heart's Cry and was an expensive purchase but seems to be justifying this by two wins at his two outings to date.  He's 3.6 and the ride of Christophe Lemaire.

We rather like Authority here – we loved his Daddy Orfevre – and he's also unbeaten and has the plus of having won over this course and distance and 6.3 looks value.

Weltreisende is by Dream Journey and is also undefeated and will be ridden by Oisin Murphy and has a quote of 6.6.
