After Lys Gracieux took out the Arima Kinen, Contrail gave the trainer his second G1 winner of the week!
Contrail, a promising son of Deep Impact, comfortably won the Hopeful Stakes at Nakayama on Sunday. With Fukunaga-san on board they easily accounted for the rest of the field, with Weltreisende second, Wakea third, Rhinebeck fourth and Authority fifth.
This was the last meeting for 2019, which has been a very good year for Japanese racing and by the looks of the field in the Hopeful 2020 will be very interesting.
