Popular Godolphin runner Benbatl scored a runaway win in the Meydan feature.

On the second meeting of the Dubai Carnival Benbatle showed he was back in top form by winning by 4 ¾ lengths from For The Top 15/1 and Majestic Mambo 15/2.

There were a couple of thrilling finishes for the first three home in a couple of other races:  in the 2000 Guineas Trial Commanding got the win from Al Modayar 14/1 and Dark of Night 14/1 with the official margin of a short head separating them.

And in the first round of the Maktoum Challenge is was Kimbear who got his head down on the line to win from Secret Ambition 12/1 and favourite North America again with an official margin of a short head separating the top three.
