The Charlie Appleby trained Magic Lily got a magical ride under James Doyle on Thursday night.

They managed to win the G2 Cape Verdi in record time from our roughie Nisreen by a nose in a thrilling finish.  The winner's stablemate Beyond Reason ran third, and favourite Surrounding needed the run. 

Doug Watson saddled his 600th winner which is an outstanding achievement.  We don't think his coffee-making skills have reached such Olympian heights however!
