The G1 Stewards' Cup at Sha Tin is more interesting than usual this year.

Former glamour star Beauty Generation has not produced his famous sparkle so far this prep and it looks like Waikiku is ready to step up to the plate and take over.  He is now a firm favourite on 1.6 for John Size and Joao Moreira with Beauty Generation on 3.6.  Our only hesitation is the curse of the odds-on runner in G1 races. 

Hugh Bowman has flown in to ride two for Frankie Lor – Furore in the Stewards' Cup and Mr Stunning in the G1 Centenary Sprint.  Hot King Prawn is favourite here on 2.8 for Size-Teetan with stablemate Beat The Clock on 3.0.  Mr Stunning is on 9.3.

The get-out is Race 9 the Ambitious Dragon Class 2 over 1200m which is a very even looking race:  Beauty Applause is on 3.3, Computer Patch 4.7 and Duke Wai on 6.5.  Keep an eye on the market moves here as there isn't a great deal between these runners.
