Singapore trainer James Peters was awaiting 6 horses to arrive from Argentina via Amsterdam when he got a phone call.

That informed him that the plane which was supposed to transport his 6 thoroughbreds and some polo ponies going to Holland had been detained by Customs at Ezeiza Airport.  This is the main airport for Buenos Aires and the KLM Cargo plane leased by Martinair had already loaded the horses when Customs raided the plane and found 80 kgs of cocaine! 

The horses were unloaded and taken back to the ranch they had come from and James Peters had to explain to his owners what had happened and how they will have to wait another month for their horses to arrive.

Some of the flight crew and others have been arrested.
