Meydan's G2 Al Rashidiya saw Barney Roy emerge from his long holidays with a storming finish.
Under William Buick the Appleby-trained Barney Roy had been off the tracks since June but showed himself to be in top form winning the 1800m turf race, a prelude to the Dubai Turf on World Cup night. Dream Castle was 2 ¼ lengths away and his stablemate Mountain Hunter a 6 ¼ lengths back with early leader Loxley in fourth.
Al Sindagaha Sprint G3 saw Gladiator King, a son of Curlin, win by a length from Doug O'Neill's Truck Salesman who was a bit of a roughie. Ibn Malik was third in a similar margin with favourite Drafted only a nose away but fourth.
