With the weather being pretty ordinary not surprisingly some big names were amongst the "downs".
As Ascot in the Reynoldstown Novices' Chase Pym and Sam Brown were pulled up leaving Copperhead to win the race by 17 lengths.
And in the Ascot Chase Cyrname went down but both horse and rider were OK after although there were a few anxious moments before Cyrname got to his feet which let Riders Onthestorm to win by 14 lengths.
At Haydock The World's End was pulled up in the Rendlesham so Emitom had the all clear to produce the win by 8 lengths.
No big dramas in the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle which went to the favourite Ramses de Teilee.
