At Hanshin the Hochi Hai is a prep for the Japanese 1000 Guineas.  As is often the case in races for these young fillies finding favourites may not pay off.  Cagliostro, a daughter of Eishin Flash, started favourite but could only finish fourth.  The winner was Epos, ridden by Iwata and who started on 13.8.  She's a daughter of Just A Way.  Second home was Yamakatsu Mermaid, by Lord Kanaloa who started on 3.8, and third went to Nine To Five by Screen Hero who was on 45.9.

The Kinko Sho at Chukyo is a prep for the Osaka Hai and went to the favourite Saturnalia who won by 2 lengths from Satono Saitus 41.5 with Daiwa Cagney 24.3 third by a nose to Gibeon 28.3.

Both meetings were held without public.
