French jockey Mickaëlle Michel has broken the record for a short term licenced jockey.

The 24yo was riding in the NAR and finished her season with a win on the final day giving her a total of 30 wins during her 3 months licence.  This beats the figure of 29 wins which had been held by Alan Munro in 2011 and Ryan Curatolo in 2016.  She had 267 rides so it gives her a strike rate off 11.2%.

Michel is staying on in Japan as there is no racing in France and present and she is no studying for the Japanese jockey's exams in November and hopes to get a further licence in the autumn.
