Lucky Lilac, the 5yo daughter of Orfevre, got her neck out further than the 4yo daughter of Bago to win Sunday's Osaka Hai.  Favourite Danon Kingly was only a neck away in third in a thrilling finish.  Lucky Lilac has always been thereabouts and was second in the Hong Kong Vase last December but this was her best result to date.

The eye-catching run was provided by Cadenas who came from the very back off the 12 runner field to finish fourth only ¾ length behind Danon Kingly.  Cadenas, who ran the fastest last 600m, had started on 68.2 but those odds will certainly not be around for his next start.

The offspring of Deep Impact ran 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th.
