Crowd or no crowd Japanese racing carries on

3 minute read

While many Japanese eyes will be glued to Sydney for Danon Premium's run in the QEII there's still lots of excitement at home.

Two G2s this Saturday with the New Zealand Stakes 1600m for the 3yos at Nakayama, and the Sankeisports Hai Hanshin Himba Stakes for the mares, also over 1600m.

We don't have a lot of info on these runners except for the Morning Line, which for the NZ Stakes as Luftstrom, by Kinshasa no Kiseki, on top on 4.9.  Harmony Magellan, a Daiwa Major colt, is on 5.8 and then there are two promising fillies, Aurora Flash on 6.2, by Frankel, and Season's Gift by Epiphenia on 7.9 (nice name).

At Hanshin the Himba Stakes is for the mares and Danon Fantasy is on top on 3.3 with Yuji Kawada riding – he'll be watching Sydney too as he has been Danon Premium's jockey in all his starts up to today.  Sound Chiara is on 3.6, Shigeru Pink Dia is on 7.3 and Beach Samba 8.6.
