The Oka Sho starts the classics in Japan

3 minute read

This G1 for the 3yo fillies is the first of the classics and the first of the female triple crown.

The Hanshin track is looking so beautiful at the moment with all the blossoms out but we can only appreciate it via the TV.

This will be Christophe Lemaire's celebration of his release from quarantine following his trip to Dubai.  In the Oka Sho he rides Sanctuaire, one of six daughters of Deep Impact in the race.  She's beaten the boys too and Lemaire is going for his third win of this race.  They are on 6.5.

Resistencia, by Daiwa Major is out of the Argentinian mare Malacostumbrada, and was the 2yo filly for 2019.  Take will be on her and they are currently favourites on 3.9.

Daring Tact is by Epiphaneia and has won her two starts to date.  Her run in the latter saw her come from the rear and win by 4 lengths.  4.2.

Others who have good chances include Ria Amelia on 7.44, Maltese Diosa 9.1 and we may have a bit of e/w on Cravache d'Or on 10.7.
