Daring Tact shows dash in the Oka Sho

3 minute read

The rain didn't worry her as the daughter of Epiphaneia raced round the field and over the line.

This was Daring Tact's third win in as many races and she showed great finishing speed and determination to ignore the rain and clock the fastest time for the last 600m, much as she had in her previous run which had caused trainer Haruki Sugiyama to enter her for the G1.

It's been a good weekend for Epiphaneia's daughters as Season's Gift finished second in the New Zealand Trophy at Nakayama on Saturday.

Favourite Resistencia was second and Take must have thought he had the race in the bag as he moved past Smile Kana who had led for most of the trip until there was a flash coming down the outside and that was Daring Tact winning by 1 ½ lengths.  Smile Kana, another Deep Impact daughter, started on 35.5 and finished just ahead of the fast-finishing Cravache d'Or who ran the second fastest last 600m.
