Lack of public but no lack of excitement at Sha Tin

The three G1 races lived up to expectations as far as excitement was concerned.

Even if the results weren't entirely according to the script.  That started off with a stunning performance in the Chairman's Sprint Prize where the 7yo Mr Stunning may have just deferred his retirement as he gave Karis Teetan his second G1.  Big Time Baby on 29.0 was the second home just ahead of Thanks Forever with Hot King Prawn fourth.  Favourite Aethero bled and will be out for 3 months.

The Champions' Mile saw 7yo Southern Legend lower the colours off Beauty Generation right on the line, for a second successive race won by a 7yo!  Southern Legend had been set to go to Singapore to defend his Kranji Mile title but after that race got sidelined trainer Caspar Fownes decided to stay home which proved to be a profitable decision, and it also saw jockey Vincent Ho get his first G1.  Waikuku had to battle through traffic to get third and fourth money went to Rattan.

Favourite Exultant won like top horse should in the QEII Cup.  He's not been out of the top 3 since early November 2018 and will now head to the Champions and Chater, as will his stablemate Furore who came second.  Exultant's jockey Zac Purton has now won all the HK G1s.  Eagle Way on 25.0 was third home ahead of Playa del Puente.

The two Class 2s that rounded of the card saw Computer Patch come home in front of Glorious Spectrum and Gold Chest in the Silent Witness Handicap, and General's Delight a surprise winner of the Bullish Luck ahead of Time to Celebrate 23.0 and Uncle Steve 121.00 which should have provided a good get out for those who were lucky enough to get it.
