Apprentice Jerry Chau starts well at Sha Tin

3 minute read

On his first day of riding in Hong Kong the Douglas Whyte apprentice Jerry Chau made a great impression'

He rode a double including winning the Class 1 Amber Handicap on Buddies for trainer John Moore.  That race over the 1400m saw Amazing One Plus finish second on 20.1 with the grey Decrypt under Zac Purton third home, with More Than Lucky fourth.  Beauty Legacy was perhaps a bit unlucky and behaved much better but still finished out of the money.

Earlier Hong Kong Win did it for us in the Amethyst over the 1000m straight, giving Joao Moreira a third win for the afternoon.  Stronger obligingly did the quinella and Multimillion the trifecta although not exactly either rocket science or retirement income.
