Not too many shocks in US races

3 minute read

There was racing at both Santa Anita and Belmont on Saturday and not too many surprises.

At Santa Anita the Oaks was a cakewalk for Swiss Skydiver with only 4 runners in the race.  She finished 4 lengths ahead of Speech.

The Derby was a bit more competitive as Honor A.P. turned the tables on Authentic.  Rushie was third in a 7 horse race.

The Holywood Gold Cup saw Improbable win over Highland Power with Tenfold third.

At Belmont Instilled Regard had no problems winning the Fort Macey over stablemate Devamani both from the Chad Brown yard.  Somelikeithotbrown was third at 11/1and Synchrony fourth.

The Gr 1 Carter went to the George Weaver trained Vekoma with Javier Castellano on board with Network Effect second 10/1 and American Anthem third 16/1.
