3 minute read

Following the close defeat of The Queen's First Receiver in the Hampton Court, Frankie Dettori fears being sent to the Tower.

Fortunately for the jockey Her Majesty may be feeling benevolent following the win of her home-bred 2yo Tactical in the Windsor Castle.

The Hampton Court winner Russian Emperor has an Aussie connection as his damn is Atlantic Jewell, who was owned by Laurie Macri and Macri is part of the ownership here.  Following the win in the G3 the Derby is a possibility.  Aidan O'Brien trained and Ryan Moore was in the irons.

First Receiver put up a gallant fight to take second and there was a good run from Berlin Tango who will probably go to the Dante.

The Prince of Wales G1 over 2000m saw Lord North produce a stunning finish to come from off the pace and win by 3 ¾ lengths.  Trainer John Gosden said the horse had been gelded last year and then went on to win the Cambridgeshire.  James Doyle was the jockey in the first of a double (he was on Tactical) and said the horse was a pleasure to ride.  Addeyyb put in a solid performance and Barney Roy battled on for third, with favourite Japan fourth.
