There's top racing all round the world this weekend and it starts in New York on Friday.
The Metropolitan is over 1600m with 8 runners. McKinzie needs no introduction – he's been there and done that many times but not always finishing in the front of the field. He's 2/1 which could be a bit skinny but he does like it here. Vekoma, by Candy Ride, will have a great following in the Latino community, and is on 5/2. He has been great on wet tracks and will have to prove it on a dry one. Code of Honour is on 3/1 and ticks most boxes.
The Manhattan, also Gr 1, is over 2000m on turf with 8 runners. Brown's Instilled Regard is on top here on 2/1 ahead of Sadler's Joy 7/2 and Devamari 9/2. Could be a very good race as not much between most of them.
The Suburban Gr 2 is also over 2000m with 8 runners, three of whom filled the first three places in last year's Belmont – Sir Winston, Tacitus and Joevia. Tacitus is favoured here on 9/5 ahead of Sir Winston 7/2. Joevia had surgery after the Belmont, has had a couple off runs since his comeback mainly in order to get rid of some extra weight, and is a worthy rough at 20/1. Into this mix we add the very promising local Mr Buff – he's been burning up the tracks and comes in here on 2/1. Keep safe.
