It's the Derby and the Oaks on the same day at Chantilly.

The Prix Jockey Club G1 (French Derby) is over 2100m and has a field of 16.

Andre Fabre's Shamardal colt Victor Ludorum has ticked every box and comes to this his 6th start with a record of 4 wins and 1 third.  Mickael Barzalona as usual has the ride.  The stablemate Ocean Atlantique is by American Pharoah and will be ridden by P-C Boudot and they are on 5/1.

On the same quote Pao Alto is by Intello  and Ferland has given the ride to Maxime Guyon.

For a wild roughie add Dawn Intello who is trained by Andreas Schutz and will be ridden by Theo Bachelet and they are 50/1.

The Prix Diane G1 is the French Oaks and again over 2100m.  Jessica Harrington's filly Alpine Star is by Sea The Moon and won the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot by 4 ½ lengths.  She will be ridden by Stephane Pasquier.  Raabihah is on 3/1 and is by Sea The Stars and comes from the Rouget yard with Cristian Demuro riding.

Seamie Heffernon has got permission to come to France to ride Peaceful for Aidan O'Brien and this daughter of Galileo is on 7/2.  She's had 4 starts to date for 2 wins and a second.  Derby winning jockey Emmet McNamara the same – he will be on Fort Myers who is on 40/1.  Both jockeys will have to do 14. Days quarantine back in Ireland.
