And from a very quiet Sandown

Which may have been quiet even with public after the Eclipse.

That race saw the Godolphin runner Ghaiyyath take the prize after a positive ride from William Buick saw them relegate the "Queen" to a lady-in-waiting second.  Enable wasn't that bad a run considering the time off and her age, and she should be spot on for the Arc which is her main target.  Japan ran a creditable race with the Japanese runner Deidre possibly in need of the run.  It has been very difficult for trainers during the lockdown and against that the lack off noise arguably helps the horses concentrate.

Cross Counter also needed a race as he ran out of puff in the Henry II over the 3200.  Dashing Willoughby provided the dash and Spanish Mission who could be heading to Melbourne if not this year then next year was 1 ¼ lengths second whereas Cross Counter was 11 lengths behind him.
