The first set of colours were on the favourite Dandalla who had to dig deep to hold out Fev Rover who was sporting the second set.  Dandalla was favourite with Ben Curtis working hard on the filly who just kept her nose in front.  The Bradley horses come from different yards with Fev Rover being with Richard Fahey and she started at 28/1 with Dan Tudhope in the irons.  Third home Santosha was on 50/1.  No excuse for Time Scale and Hala Hala Hala who came 4th and 5th.

The Falmouth Stakes was a nice win for our selection Nazeef in a thrilling finish with second and third both only a neck apart.  Second was the very honest Billesdon Brook 14/1 and third favourite Terebellum.  One Master was fourth.  Nazeef's jockey Jim Crowley, who is retained by Sheik Hamdan, is having a brilliant summer.

Saturday's card features the G2 Superlative Stakes for the 2yos over 1400m with 10 runners.  Many of these have won on debut and are now having a second start so we are looking to one who has had two starts and could be value in Devious Company.  His two starts have both resulted in wins although possibly against slightly less challenging opposition but we like his breeding – by Fast Company out of a Dr Devious mare.  Aiden O'Brien's Hudson River is favourite on 11/4 following a soft win on debut at the Curragh.  Seventh Kingdom also won impressively on debut at Doncaster and is 7/2.  He's by Frankel with John Gosden legging up David Egan. Godolphin Appleby-Buick have Master Of The Seas, a Dubawi product who won his debut at Newmarket on the Rowley.

The July Cup G1 is over 1200m with 13 going to post.  Commonwealth Cup winner Golden Horde looks well set for this and is 2/1 for Clive Cox and Adam Kirby. Sceptical is next in the market for Denis Hogan and Frankie Dettori on 4/1 but we prefer Hello Youmzain who beat him before and has two G1s in his CV.  The Kevins are in good form both individually and collectively.  Threat returns to sprinting in this and could well be in the finish – 8/1 with Oisin Murphy doing the riding for Richard Hannon.

Over at Ascot there's the G2 Summer Mile with 11 runners.  Marcus Tregoning's Mohaather looks the goods here – on 6/4 with Dane O'Neill on board.  It's pretty open in the rest of the field with three on 7/1 – Marie's Diamond from the in-form Mark Johnston yard and Joe Fanning has the ride, Skardu with Tom Marquand riding for William Haggas, and Zaaki trained by Sir Michael Stoute with Louis Steward riding.
